Research courses and thesis projects

We are always looking for motivated students (BSc, MSc and teacher) who would like to join us. Topics from the following areas are possible, whereby different methods are applied and learned. Own ideas can also be discussed. The lab group is currently particularly interested in the biology of desert plants and bryophytes.

- Molecular biodiversity research (phylogenetics/-genomics, taxonomy, microscopy, laboratory work, fieldwork)
- Trait evolution and biogeographical history of selected plant lineages (literature study, bioinformatic analyses)
- Interaction of bryophytes / desert plants with their environment (laboratory experiments and/or fieldwork, microscopy, phenotyping, statistical evaluations)
- Establishment of cultivation protocols (laboratory experiments, cultivation methods, statistical evaluations)
