  • Mycorrhiza

Research Priorities

  • Anatomy of ectomycorrhizae with emphasis on function systematics
  • Systematics of cyphellaceous fungi and their relation to fungi with different organisation types of fruitbodies
  • Niche occupation by ectomycorrhizae and space occupation by their mycelia

Current Projects

  • Mycorrhizal anatomy of ectomycorrhizal genera of Pezizomycetes (Ascomycota) and Agaricomycetes (Basidiomycota)
  • Distribution of ectomycorrhizae in an altitudinal transect in the Nationalpark Bayerischer Wald in its dependence on climatic and edaphic factors
  • Distribution of exploration types of ectomycorrhizae in natural soils
  • Taxonomical studies on the relationships Cyphellopsis, Maireina, Tomentella (Agaricomycetes)
